The MaST Diversity and Employment Law team has been running since 1999. The team consists of experts in Diversity and cross cultural working as well as several Employment lawyers as associates.
MaST Theatre and MaST Diversity regularly combine forces to work on projects. Theatre is a natural tool for raising awareness in a non-threatening fashion.
Challenging inappropriate behaviour, for example, where our aim might be to help participants in training understand the dangers of inappropriate behaviour and how and when it needs to be challenged. We can also highlight the improvements in morale which result from eradicating such behaviours.
We examine the short and long term benefits that flow from improvements within organisations' cultures, both to individuals and to the team they work in.
- Recruitment from a wider range of applicants
- Retention of highly trained, experienced staff - who have a growing value in the market place
- Closer association with an increasingly diverse client or customer base
- Morale and the business benefits, including the savings from avoiding tribunals and 'fire fighting' and even litigation.
Participants will also need to see the effects of failures to challenge inappropriate behaviour and also the courage needed to make those challenges. They will also see some of the likely short term difficulties of such challenges and the longer term benefits for individuals, their workplaces and the wider community. Using the 'safety' of interactive theatre, delegates can practice giving such support and can also see the results in action.
