Managing Change Effectively
The Business Issue
A Government Department was undergoing significant change. Managers were good at planning and organising the technical 'what and when' aspects of change but staff were not being sufficiently involved in the process
The Solution
Due to time pressure, the department asked MaST to design a half-day training programme in Managing Change that focussed on the impact on people affected by organisational change
The Outcomes
MaST created the programme and to maximise time also prepared pre and post workshop activities. The feedback from the Management group was so positive that a more senior group of managers requested an additional workshop. Whilst gaining an understanding of the people impact of change, Leadership skills were also enhanced
Improving Sales Results
The Business Issue
A not for profit organisation faced a challenge - how to increase income, whilst maintaining excellent customer service and a strongly caring approach - "with most of our clients under emotional strain, staff found it difficult to offer more than the basic option"
The Solution
The organisation's Sales manager says "In deciding to train our staff in selling skills, it was recognised that the process developed would need to be more caring than generic sales approaches". The HR Manager had an additional requirement, saying "I agreed with that, but also wanted to ensure that normal business activities were not disrupted by training"
The Outcomes
The organisation turned to MaST - "We needed to work with someone who could understand our unique situation. MaST did that and was able to design a programmme that was delivered in well spaced sessions to suit our workload and achieved the positive impact we were looking for"
Maximising Performance
The Business Issue
A large manufacturer approached MaST to conduct training in Critical Path Analysis to help minimise down time during its maintenance process, which required shutting down the production line in order to carry out scheduled servicing
The Solution
An initial needs exploration indicated that the problem was not critical Path Analysis, as the client clearly understood that process. Investigating further, MaST identified the real underlying issue - communication gaps between the various maintenance sections, outside contractors and production teams
The Outcomes
MaST designed a one-day Project Management 'learning day' that focused strongly on communication skills and goal setting.
The client states that the learning day was a great success because MaST was able to focus on the real issues of the Company, and many of the challenges identified were resolved with the help of the excellent Facilitator, on the day
